Dynamic Dance Academy opened in August 2016, under the direction of Jessica Maillet, offering dance classes in Verona, NJ. DDA offers dance classes for kids and dance classes for adults too. The school has a direct focus on each dancer’s technique, promoting maximum potential in any subject in which the dancer desires to enroll. DDA has a dance room equipped with Ballet barres, mirrors and a marley floor.
Jessica loves to teach young children the art of dance and hopes to bring them to enjoy dancing as much as she does.
She began dancing at the age of three and has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Flamenco, Pointe, Hip Hop and ballroom dancing. She has participated in numerous performances, recitals, and competitions including Star Power, Starbound, Access Broadway, Dance Educators of America, CANAM, EDA and NDA to name a few. She has received many awards for solos and group dances throughout the years. She was the captain of her dance team in high school at Saint Dominic Academy. In 2009, Jessica graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Arts and majored in International Business and Dance.
Jessica is the co-director, choreographer, and an instructor at My Passion Dance studio where she teaches Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Flamenco, Salsa, Hip Hop and Acrobatics. She also choreographs for weddings and sweet 16s. Jessica teaches both adult and children’s dance classes including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Tango.
Jessica has also managed to teach at several schools in New Jersey. She founded the Ballet program at Saint Francis Academy- a Blue Ribbon school in 2011. She also directs the dance program at the Ice House in Hackensack. She has worked closely with Olympic figure skaters there since 2016.
She has performed and continues to perform at weddings, birthday parties, charity events, parades, political events including the Mayor’s ball and for the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce. She also performs at various Latin Ballroom Congresses throughout the East Coast including NJ, NY, PA, Washington DC and Chicago, with Cultural Explosion.
Jessica continues her dance education taking classes in New York City, attends and is part of several professional dance teacher organizations.
Jessica is certified by Acrobatic Arts to teach level 1 through level 6. She is also AFAA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America) to teach group fitness classes for children and adults of all ages and is a member of IDEA a dance education association.
